Bidding

Each live auction has a current price and a certain amount of time left. When you place a bid, the auction price moves up by a little. Also, the auction end time is extended by a few seconds. When the time runs out, whoever is the high bidder gets to buy the item that is on auction for the end price.

In order to bid on an auction, you must first purchase bids. Every time you place a bid, the number of bids you have goes down by one.

The price increment and time interval can vary from auction to auction. It will be shown clearly on the auction details view.

All the auctions you see are for brand new items offered by BidRodeo. You can bid with confidence because you are not buying from strangers.

What is the catch?

You may be wondering what is the catch? Why are the end prices so low?

You have to remember that bids are not free. The end price of the auction can be so low because the bids that are placed help subsidize the end price. The winner of the auction simply gets a great deal.

When you win an auction, you can be sure all that you are going to pay is the end auction price, and shipping and tax (where applicable). There is no trick or catch. You can sign up for free and check out the deals risk-free.

Starting Out

The very first thing you should do is explore. Have a look around. See what kinds of auctions are going on. Check out the great deals on items that have sold recently. Just look around and see if BidRodeo is for you.

If you like what you see, create an account. Just click on the "Sign Up" button in the button bar to start.

It is absolutely free and you are not under any obligation to bid or to purchase anything. We may even occasionally give out some freebies. You have nothing to lose.

If you decide to join, just click on the "Sign Up" link in the button bar.

To create an account, all you need to do is fill out the signup form, making sure you provide all the required fields. It is a one-step form and we only ask for information we absolutely need to make sure that you can be a member.

Your data is safe. The only piece of data that we will publicly show is your username. We will not commercially share your email address or any other data to third parties. See the privacy policy for details.

Browse Auctions

You should spend some time browsing the auctions in order to get familiar with how BidRodeo works. Remember, you can view live, past, and future auctions from the category menu on the left side of the button bar. If you want to see the exciting live auctions that are ending soon, just click on the "Auctions" button in the button bar.

You can click on the title or picture of any auction to view it in detail.

Auction Details

There is a lot of information about an auction in the auction details view.

The auction information part shows information like who the top bidder is, the time remaining, and the current price of the auction. Below it, it shows some price information like the retail price of the item, discounts on the auction, and shipping costs (if applicable).

The bidder list shows the last few people who have placed bids on this auction. The person on top is the current high bidder, and he will win the auction if the time runs out and no one else outbids him.

If you like this auction, you can save it to your watchlist. Later, in the "My Account" section, you can view a list of all the auctions currently on your watchlist.

A BidBudddy will place bids on your behalf if you cannot be there personally. Read more about BidBuddies.

Need Bids

As you make your way around BidRodeo, you may notice that you cannot bid yet. That is because you have no bids.

In order to bid on auctions, you need to have bids. Bids can be purchased for a low price and are available in convenient packs. The more you buy, the cheaper bids are.

You can buy bids from any screen buy clicking on the "Buy Bids" button in the button bar.

Pick Bid Package

Buying bids is easy.

You can click on the "Buy Bids" button on the button bar from any screen.

The first step is to select a bid package to use. Bids come in convenient packages from 10 to 200 bids, so you can buy as few or as many as you will need. The bigger the package, the less expensive the bids. The more bids you buy, the more you save.

You also need to select a payment method. You can pay for bids with a credit card, a debit card, or with PayPal. At this point, you do not have any credit cards, but you can add one easily by clicking on the "Add Card" button. If you wish to pay with PayPal, click on the "Use PayPal" button.

Add Credit Card

To pay with a credit card, you need to provide the credit card details. If you are paying with PayPal, you will not need to provide any credit card information to BidRodeo.

Just fill in the small form providing the information that is needed to process the payment. The nickname of the credit card is something that you can use to easily refer to the card if you need to use it in the future.

Buy Bids

Once you picked a bid package that is right for you and selected a method of payment, you are ready to continue. Click on the "Proceed" button.

Confirm Bid Purchase

You will be presented with a summary of your bid purchase. Please review this information. Once you are satisfied, click on "Buy Bids."

If you are paying with a credit card, we will attempt to charge your card for the purchase price. If the purchase is successful, you will be shown a receipt within a few moments. We will also email you a receipt for your records.

If paying with PayPal, you will be redirected to PayPal's website to finish the purchase. You will need to log into you account, review the purchase, and send the payment. Shortly after, you will return to BidRodeo.

Bid Purchase Receipt

When finished, you will be shown the receipt for your purchase. You are now ready to go and bid on auctions.

If you paid with PayPal, it may take a couple of moments for the payment to be sent from PayPal's server to BidRodeo. Once the payment arrives, the bids will be added to your account and you will see your bid balance grow in the upper right corner of the screen.

You can always review your past bid purchases and view the receipt by going to "My Account" and clicking on the "Bid Balance" link in the menu.

Now you can go and bid. Good luck!

Bidding

Bidding is simple. You first find an auction that you would like to bid on. If you like the price and would like to become the high bidder, simply click on the bid button.

You are now the high bidder (1)(2) - that is, until someone else decides to outbid you. A few seconds will be added (3) to the remaining time and the price of the auction (4) will increase by a little. One bid will be deducted from your bid balance.

When the auction time runs out, the auction ends and no more bidding is possible. The high bidder at this time becomes the winner and gets to purchase the item.

Winning Auctions

If you are the high bidder on an auction when the time runs out, you will be the winner. At this point, you can purchase the item for the end price of the auction.

After you win an auction, a notification will show up to let you buy the item. You can also go to "My Account" to see if there are any auctions that you have won. It may take a few moments from the time you win the auction to the time it becomes available for purchase.

Buy Item

To purchase an item, you will need to pick a payment method and tell us where you would like it shipped.

You can pick one of the credit cards in your account, or use PayPal to make the payment for the item.

Once you are ready to review your order, click on the "Proceed" button. If, for some reason, you do not wish to purchase the item, you can click on the "I Don't Want to Purchase" button. Think it over though; because once you forfeit your chance you will not be able to buy the item you have won on the auction.

Review Item Purchase

Carefully review the item order you are about to place. Make sure that you picked the correct payment method and selected a good shipping address.

Click "Buy Item" to place your order. If you are paying with PayPal, you will be shown to their site in order to log into your PayPal account and authorize the payment.

At this point, your order is placed. You item will ship shortly.

Review Item Receipt

When finished, you will be shown a receipt for your purchase. The order has been placed and will be processed and sent shortly.

If you paid with PayPal, it may take a couple of moments for the payment to be sent from PayPal's server to BidRodeo. Once the payment arrives, we will finalize your order.

You can always view your item purchase receipt by clicking on "My Account" and then "Auctions I've Won."
